  • Fixed an edge case where the medication options were not shown.
  • Previously, when users looked at the Atrial Fibrillation or Cardiovascular Risk tools on smaller screens, the icon array on the decision tab would not display nicely when a population of 1,000 was selected. We have adjusted the dimensions of the icon array to assure that it will fit nicely on smaller screens.

  • This release includes optimizations that improve the overall performance of the interface.

Osteoporosis Tool Updates

  • Simplified Decision tab by shortening the decision header, removing the Undecided option and defaulting to the No Medicine option.
  • Shifted the primary side effect of treatment (or placebo) in the osteoporosis screening tool from simply experiencing GI Symptoms, to quitting bisphosphonates because of GI Symptoms.

Atrial Fibrillation Tool Updates

  • We redesigned the logic of the atrial fibrillation tool renal dysfunction questions. Now, instead of prompting for the generic “renal dysfunction,” we prompt for the component parts of a history of dialysis or renal transplant. The auto-populated patient’s serum creatinine, if greater than 2.26 mg/dL, is added to the logic to appropriately flag renal dysfunction to calculate the HAS-BLED score. The prompt is hidden when it can be to simplify the interface.
  • Improved logic when EHR sends data for CHF and Diabetes.
  • The library for Atrial Fibrillation tool is now available to Alpha users.
  • Updated user interface for library documents.
  • Improved logic for the library-only workflow through tools.

  • When we received a value from an EHR indicating the patient has had a malignant biopsy, we now set both the “past breast cancer” flag and the flag indicating they had a biopsy.

November 18, 2017 – Version 4.0.3

Lung Cancer Screening Tool Updates

  • The lung cancer screening tool now features a choice on the Decision tab to see the impact of the patient quitting smoking today. Patients can compare the impact of quitting smoking with screening CT scans and both options together.
  • Reset the lung cancer decision buttons after going back to the decision page.
  • Developed the logic of showing pairs of icon arrays when lung cancer decisions are undecided.
  • Created a more elegant decision selector for the lung cancer tool to handle the two choices of CT scans and smoking cessation.

November 4, 2017 – Version 4.0.2

Breast Cancer Screening Tool Updates

  • Added a warning to the mammography screening tool which displays when we receive data from an EHR indicating that a patient has had a malignant biopsy, notifying the end user of this.
  • Shifted the text display under the icon array to be more flexible and descriptive.
  • Expanded the detail we provide regarding guideline recommendations from a local guideline and the American College of Radiology. This addressed the different recommendations for women under 40 based on risk and those with a positive family history.

Atrial Fibrillation Tool Updates

  • Modified the risk modeling of the Watchman treatment on the Atrial Fibrillation Tool. Data on the expected number of cases where implantation would be unsuccessful is no longer presented.
  • Added rollover text to each of the treatment choices in the atrial fibrillation stroke screening tool. This text contains brand names and other descriptions corresponding to each treatment.
  • We are continuing to improve the performance of the interface. This release includes optimizations to reduce the memory usage.

Osteoporosis Tool Updates

  • Improved the caveat display on the patient summary and chart note tabs.
  • Secondary Osteoporosis field is now hidden when there is a T-Score specified because it is unnecessary for the FRAX score.
  • Added caveat to alert users if they leave data points as “unknown.”

General Updates

  • If data is sent to HealthDecision from an EHR, the “UNK” or “Unknown” button corresponding to that data is now deactivated. Note that this does not apply to drop down lists.

October 28, 2017 – Version 4.0.1

Lung Cancer Screening Tool Updates

  • If the patient is a former smoker and the quit date is not filled in, the user is now appropriately no longer allowed to progress to the next step.
  • Updated the flow of how caveat text is displayed on the Lung Cancer tool.
  • Cleaned up the error checking for manually entered quit dates for former smokers in the lung cancer tool.
  • Took out the unknown option for smoking status to require an active choice.
  • Changed the presented numbers of side effects, mortality reduction and over-diagnosis to match the Lung-RADS standard.

Breast Cancer Screening Tool Updates

  • Updated the display patterns of the caveat messages of the mammogram tool so that they are more obvious on the data page.
  • Repaired an issue where a previous version of the risk algorithm was being stored in the newer slot. Storage path was corrected, and the prior data was restored to maintain an accurate record.

  • Improved the display patterns of caveats in the AFib tool.
